Richard Cooper, CEO
Since joining Pro-Tech in 2010 as President, Richard Cooper has led the company’s transformation from a local New Jersey solar EPC firm to a nationally recognized, full-service provider. He has grown the company from six to more than thirty employees and expanded the company’s EPC capabilities to include a self-performing site civil division and project development from inception to financing and completion. To date, Pro-Tech has built more than 90 megawatts of solar generating capacity with projection for the next 12 months in excess of 50 megawatts. As a member of the executive board, he contributes and advises on the direction of the organization.
A lifelong entrepreneur, Mr. Cooper founded his first company at the age of 18. Mr. Cooper has more than 25 years of business experience in the financial, venture capital and energy sectors. He has held positions with privately and publicly held companies, ranging in size from start-up to multi-billion dollar international businesses, and has operated in various industries including financial services, wealth management, high-technology and energy services. Mr. Cooper has extensive experience in the energy services sector, leading the development and construction of significant energy savings improvement projects for industrial, commercial, healthcare and government clients while working with global, national and regional industry leaders Honeywell, Siemens and Tozour Energy Services. In addition, he has worked in rapid and emerging-growth environments, as well as cash-constrained and turnaround situations. At Pro-Tech, Mr. Cooper has overall responsibility for the company’s strategic direction and financial performance.
Mr. Cooper holds a business administration degree from Rutgers University and completed his CEM certification in 2009.
