Project Overview:
Pro-Tech Energy Solutions designed and installed a 568.36 kW roof mounted solar array at Monmouth University. The array was constructed on seven different school facilities, including the newly constructed athletic center and several dormitories.
Project Challenges:
During the design process, the potential capacity of the solar array was maximized by creatively avoiding roof obstructions. Pro-Tech accomplished this by identifying shading patterns and selecting high efficiency equipment to minimize any lost production. In addition, Pro-Tech utilized a judicious approach to identify which trees would be trimmed or removed to retain the historical aesthetic of the old growth trees. Pro-Tech managed the entire construction project during the university’s spring session without any interruption on campus.
